An Evening of Learning, Tribute and Appreciation of Rabbi Reuven Cohn, ז"ל

The Nov, 2 event truly was "An Evening of Learning, Tribute and Appreciation of Rabbi Reuven Cohn, ז"ל.'
The shul was filled to capacity with admirers of all ages.The legacy of Rabbi Reuven Cohn, who personified the values of Maimonides school as a graduate and teacher, was celebrated from a variety of perspectives. 
Naty Katz '73, Head of School, opened the proceedings with remembrances of his family's close connections with the Cohn family followed byvideo tributes of current high school students. Then three generations of Rabbi Cohn's immediate family offered unique perspectives: his wife Rochelle Cohn, daughter Beruria Cohn Novich '94 and granddaughter Daya Novich '20.
Rabbi Noah Cheses '03 of Young Israel of Sharon, a student in Rabbi Cohn's first Talmud class at Maimonides in 2002, reflected on his teaching style.  Rabbi Cohn's impact as a teacher on the greater community was highlighted in remarks from longtime Adult Jewish Learning students Dr. Judith Kates and Dr. Elkan Gamzu. 

Rabbi Dr. Naftali Cohn '91 evoked his father's passion for teaching and learning, and engaged in an interactive study session, then concluded by conducting a siyum. Rabbi Benjamin Samuels of Cong. Shaarei Tefillah in Newton closed the event, which was co-sponsored Maimonides School, Sha'arei Tefillah of Newton, Hebrew College and its Me'ah program, Ma'ayan, and Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston.
