The After School Program for Grades K-6 gives children a chance to explore
creative interests and develop new skills. Classes are held Monday through
Thursday after the regular school day for fifty-five minutes. Children
can discover new abilities in the Arts and Sciences, in Martial Arts,
and in Sports and Fitness. Mishmar (Torah Learning) is also offered.
Full details about our many courses are provided in the Elementary
After School Program brochure, available upon request. Courses are
also available for Grade 7 and 8.
Our enthusiastic teachers come from a variety of backgrounds, and each
brings expertise to excite children’s budding talents. They challenge
our students to learn more and extend themselves in areas different
than those available during the regular school day. Interests developed
in the After School Program may become a life-long passion.
After School Recess is a faculty-supervised recess available for students
in Kindergarten though Grade 2. It runs Monday through Thursday from
3:00–3:45 p.m. Maimonides School created this program to assist
parents who wish to have one pick-up time for all their children in
Grades K–6 (3:45 p.m.). A fee is charged for this recess.
The MateS program is provided at Maimonides School as a service for
working parents. The program runs Monday through Thursday from 3:45–5:45
p.m. Children work on homework, play games and participate in various
arts and crafts. Games are played either inside in the gym or outside
on the playground, weather permitting. Snacks are provided for students.
Parents are encouraged to sign up for MateS in advance each month.
The program is also offered on a ‘Drop-In’ basis, provided
there is space available. There is a fee for this service.
